Two Coupang listings both sit at 4.9 stars, and the only way to tell them apart is reading a hundred reviews that all say the same four words. This scores the reviews already loaded on the page and shows which patterns pushed the number down.
Ever wondered "can I trust these reviews?" while shopping on Coupang?
Review Signal for Coupang reads only the reviews already shown on the product page and computes the following signals into a 0–100 trust badge:
⚠️ This score is a heuristic reference only and does not declare any review or seller to be fake.

What it does
Sponsored / gifted ratio
compensation-disclosure phrases such as "제품을 제공받아 작성" (provided for review)
Date bursts
reviews clustered on specific dates (a review-farming sign)
Very short / copy-pasted
short or repeated boilerplate reviews
Rating skew
a distribution overloaded with 5-star ratings

Choosing between two listings that both look perfect
The panel appears just above the review section with a score out of 100, a plain-language grade and the number of reviews it read. Open both product pages, compare the two badges and the signal lists underneath, and the difference usually shows up as a sponsored percentage rather than a star average.
Seeing how much of the praise was paid for
Review text is matched against Korean compensation-disclosure wording — 제품을 제공받아 작성, 체험단, 협찬, 원고료, 서포터즈 and similar — and softer incentive phrasing about points or review events is counted separately. The sponsored share carries the heaviest weight in the score, so a page full of gifted reviews drops sharply.
Widening the sample before you trust the number
Only reviews rendered in the page count, so the first pass may be a page or two of them. The 더 많은 리뷰 분석 button clicks through to Coupang's next review page, or scrolls you to the review section when it cannot find one, and the score recalculates as more reviews load.
Permissions & privacy
Single purpose
On Coupang product pages, analyze the reviews already displayed and show heuristic trust signals as an on-page 0–100 badge. The extension does not scrape, crawl, or fetch anything; it only reads what is already visible to the user.
It runs only the code shipped inside the package — no remote code is fetched.
Questions people ask
How do you tell if Coupang reviews are sponsored?
The panel reports the share of reviews containing paid-disclosure wording as its own line item with a percentage. Korean sellers are required to disclose gifted products, so those phrases are searchable in the review body, and the signal counts how often they appear in the sample it read. A separate, lighter line covers reviews written for points or review events.
What does the score actually mean?
It starts at 100 and subtracts weighted penalties for sponsored share, incentive wording, reviews clustered on the same dates, very short or duplicated text, and a five-star distribution that arrives alongside a lot of one-line reviews. Seventy-five and up reads as good, 45 to 74 as caution, below 45 as heavy suspicion. It is a heuristic summary of visible patterns, not a ruling on whether any review or seller is fake.
Why is there no badge on the page I opened?
It only draws on Coupang product pages, and only once it has parsed at least three reviews, so scroll down to the review section and give it a moment. Coupang changes its markup from time to time; the parser tries several selectors and falls back, but if none of them match, no panel is drawn rather than a wrong number.
Does it look up reviews that aren't shown on the page?
No. It reads the review text, dates, star ratings and photo presence out of the DOM as rendered. That is also why the count in the panel matches what you have loaded, and why paging through more reviews changes the result.
What can it access on my Coupang account?
Nothing. The only chrome permission in the manifest is storage, and host access is limited to www.coupang.com and m.coupang.com, so it cannot run on any other site. Storage holds one entry, the most recent analysis result, so the toolbar popup can show the last score without rescanning.
